Our Services
Our department offers a comprehensive range of services to address the diverse needs of our patients:
Assessments: We conduct thorough assessments to evaluate various aspects of our patients' abilities, including gross and fine motor skills, sensory issues impact, hand function, activities of daily living (ADL), biomechanics, ergonomics, cognition, perceptual abilities, and more. Additionally, we provide assessments for wheelchair and mobility aid prescriptions and conduct architectural barrier audits to ensure accessibility.
Special Assessments: Our specialized assessments cover areas such as Autism assessment, driving rehabilitation, prevocational and writing ability evaluation, fitness for job assessment, and specific learning disorder assessment.
Interventions: Our interventions are tailored to each individual's needs and may include neurodevelopmental therapy, sensory motor play, hand function training, splinting and device fabrication, ADL training, biofeedback and sensory re-education, postural training, strength and endurance training, pre and post-operative therapy, management of cognitive impairments, wheelchair prescription and training, prosthetic training, energy conservation, joint protection techniques, and architectural modifications for community reintegration.
Advanced Technology Services: We offer cutting-edge services including scar management, myoelectric prosthesis training, powered wheelchair training, hand splint fabrication using advanced materials, and computerized work simulation to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We actively participate in outreach services such as medical camps, awareness programs, and community service initiatives, extending our expertise beyond our facility to benefit the wider community.
RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Our department is committed to advancing the field through ongoing research activities, including guiding undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Additionally, we conduct academic teaching programs under the Chettinad School of Occupational Therapy, ensuring the next generation of therapists are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
